@trounds2 ehm… they search the whole content of the page. the exact “formula” is very complicated and differs for different search engines. but the meta keyword is usually ignored because it has been abused. title is probably the only tag in health that probably has some relevance to google. meta description i think, regarding importance, is same as regular text on the page. but meta keywords will not help you for sure. well formed HTML will help most.

i dont think google uses the meta tags anymore, they use the actual content, i think its because porn sites where popping up all over the place regardless of the search term
When using keywords, does it matter how many words you use? Like if I use 200 words will I have more views as opposed to 5 keywords??
Actually dude, web crawlers these days hardly ever pay attention to meta tags for SEO. I mean, it helps for what the content of the search element is. But it hardly does anything to help SEO.
